Let Go and Let God

In Matthew 6:25 Jesus said, "Don't worry about your life. . . . ."  In Philippians 4:6, Paul exhorts the Philippians, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Don't worry.  Do not be anxious.  Hm-m-m-m - sounds a lot like commands not suggestions, don't you think?  Yet, many of us spend far too much time worrying about something over which we have no control.  Many of us spend needless hours being anxious rather than presenting our concerns to God.  Or, maybe you presented them to God, but then took them back.  "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)  Cast all you anxiety on Him and leave it there.

If we present our requests, our concerns to God instead of being anxious, we have a promise.  That promise is, "And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)

Today, let's give our concerns to God and leave them there - let go and let God - and experience the peace of God all over us.

  1. Kay,

I am trying to practice on those little things that seem easy to just do myself. (which is hard to do). This way I pray that I will turn the big things over the God faster than I usually do. Old habits are hard to change but, I am a work in progress.

    Love in Christ, Jean
