What are we to do when life hurts? Hebrews 12:2 says, "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
What does it mean to "fix our eyes on Jesus?" It means we focus on Him, on who He is, on His All-Sufficiency instead of focusing on our hurts. We can't do both at the same time. Whatever we are facing today, He is big enough to get us through. He is our Comforter and Healer and He has promised He will never leave us or forsake us. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
He is our constant companion. Draw close to Him. He is there. His Presence is always with us. "Be still and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)
Will life stop hurting? No. But, He takes the sting out of our hurts. His Presence comforts and consoles us and gives us hope.
I just don't see how people live without the hope of Jesus in their heart. He is our comforter & help. Pat H
